The inaugural edition takes place on Wednesday, 16 December 2026 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, combining a half-day executive summit, a networking reception, and a black-tie awards gala at which forty honours will be conferred.

A Limited Number of Positions Remain
A limited number of speaking positions remain on the 2026 programme. Chairpersons, chief executives, regulators, and recognised authorities on the Summit themes are invited to express interest. Speaking positions are editorially determined; speaking at AGBLSA is not linked to sponsorship, and speakers have no role in the awards evaluation unless separately appointed to the Judging Panel under its conflict rules.

Every nomination follows the same published path - from submission through independent evaluation to ratification - governed by the AGBLSA 2026 Recognition Selection Framework. Here is how it works.
Seven Steps, One Standard
Nominate
Submit a nomination - for yourself, your organisation, or a leader you admire - through the official nomination portal, selecting one of the forty categories.
Verify
The Secretariat screens every nomination for completeness and eligibility under the Framework, and may request clarification or supporting information.
Accept
Nominees confirm participation by returning the Nomination Acceptance Form, including consent and publicity authorisations.
Evidence
Nominees submit a concise evidence dossier - no more than fifteen (15) pages - addressing the published criteria for their category.
Evaluate
The independent Judging Panel scores each dossier against weighted rubrics, with every nomination reviewed by no fewer than three panellists, followed by moderation.
Ratify
The Advisory Board reviews the Panel's recommendations for process integrity and ratifies the honourees.
Celebrate
Shortlists are unveiled; honourees are announced at the Awards Gala & Dinner on 16 December 2026 in Dubai.

- Open to individuals and organisations domiciled in, or with substantive operations across, the Arabian markets (the six GCC states and, at the Secretariat's discretion, the wider Middle East).
- The assessment period is the twenty-four months preceding the close of nominations; the Lifetime Achievement honour considers a full career.
- Self-nominations, third-party nominations, and Secretariat-researched nominations are all admissible - and all are evaluated identically.
- Nominees must be in good regulatory standing. One nomination per nominee per category; the Secretariat resolves category overlaps under the Framework.
- Arabian Young Business Leader of the Year is open to nominees aged 40 or below at the close of nominations.

The Judging Panel may withhold recognition in any category where no nominee meets the threshold - no honour is conferred merely to fill a category.
Before You Begin
No. No fee is payable for nomination, evaluation, or the conferment of any honour.
Yes - self-nominations are welcomed and are evaluated identically to all others.
No. Commercial participation of any kind has no bearing on evaluation - a principle written into the Framework.
Only the Secretariat and the assigned Judging Panel members, all bound by confidentiality undertakings.
We ask nominees to keep nominations confidential until the shortlist is unveiled; approved announcement materials are provided to shortlisted nominees.
The Guardians of the Process
The credibility of AGBLSA rests on two institutions: an independent Judging Panel that evaluates, and a distinguished Advisory Board that ratifies. The Advisory Board is the guardian of the Recognition Selection Framework - the assurance, to every nominee and every guest, that each honour conferred in Dubai on 16 December 2026 has been earned.
What the Board Does
- Ratifies, refers back, or declines the honourees recommended by the independent Judging Panel in each of the forty categories - it does not score nominations, and it cannot substitute its own preferred honouree.
- Assures that the published process has been followed, that conflicts of interest have been managed, and that every honour withstands public and regulatory scrutiny.
- Confers the Arabian Lifetime Achievement in Governance & Business Leadership honour, on the nomination of the Judging Panel.
- Counsels the Secretariat on the strategic direction, credibility, and regional positioning of the Awards.
- Approves amendments to the Recognition Selection Framework between award cycles.
Advisory Board members serve in their personal capacity under confidentiality and conflict-of-interest undertakings. Members and their immediate organisations are ineligible for individual honours during their term. Conflicts in any category result in recusal from that category. Commercial participation in AGBLSA confers no influence over any decision of the Board.
Evaluation is the work of the independent AGBLSA Judging Panel - seven to eleven experts who score every nomination against the published rubrics.

Nominate yourself, your organisation, or a leader whose work deserves the region's recognition. Nominations close Friday, 31st July 2026. There is no fee to nominate, and every nomination is evaluated identically under the AGBLSA 2026 Recognition Selection Framework.
- Choose one of the forty categories - review the Categories page if unsure; the Secretariat can advise on the best fit.
- Have the nominee's details and an authorised contact to hand.
- Prepare a summary of achievements covering the last twenty-four months (the full evidence dossier - max. fifteen pages - follows after acceptance).
- Nominations may be submitted by the nominee, a colleague, an adviser, or any third party.
The Secretariat acknowledges your nomination within three business days and screens it for eligibility.
The nominee receives a formal Notification of Nomination and the Nomination Acceptance Form.
Upon acceptance, the nominee submits the evidence dossier for independent evaluation.
Shortlists are unveiled on 30 October 2026; honourees are announced at the gala on 16 December 2026.
